Geographic Information Systems (G.I.S.) is a technology applied to the management of geographic information, which could be defined as "a set of tools and methods particularly keen to capture, store, analyze and present spatial information georeferenced real world" (Gutierrez, 1994).

Certainly the importance of these systems in the management of environmental information, because of the close relationship of this information with the territory.
